We store only what is necessary to run the app:

• Your email address, used for authentication and account security.
• The pseudonym you choose, shown to other users.
• The letters you write, receive and save.
• Reports you submit about letters that violate our rules.
• Technical error logs that help us fix bugs.

We do not use analytics, tracking cookies or advertising of any kind.

Processing your email and account data is necessary to perform the contract between you and us (providing the service).

Processing reports and limited letter metadata for moderation is based on our legitimate interest in keeping the community safe and kind.

We do not sell or share your data. The following parties may process it only as needed:

• Other users see only your pseudonym and the text of letters you send. They never see your email address.
• Supabase hosts our database, authentication and infrastructure.
• Google receives your email only if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Our email-sending service may receive your email address if we need to notify you about a report or account issue.

We keep data only as long as necessary:

• Your account and the letters you write are kept until you delete your account.
• A letter that is reported is hidden from other users while it is reviewed.
• Technical error logs are deleted after 30 days.

A letter you send is anonymous: it cannot be linked back to you.

Deleting your account removes your profile, email address, pseudonym, saved letters and reports. Letters you have sent stay in the app, with no link to you — they are anonymous and cannot be traced back.

You have the right to:

• access the data we hold about you
• correct inaccurate data
• request erasure of your account and data
• restrict or object to certain processing

You can delete your account yourself at any time in Settings. For other requests, contact us at info@brankos.net. If you believe your rights have been violated, you can file a complaint with the Serbian Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection, or with the supervisory authority in your own country.

My Dear Friend is not intended for children under 18 years of age. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete the account.

My Dear Friend is a place for kind, anonymous letters. It is not a replacement for therapy, counselling or medical care. If you are in crisis, please reach out to a qualified professional or crisis service in your country.
